About Me

⚔️
⚔️

Alexander Molodyh is a senior full-stack engineer with 8+ years of experience. He works at Hyland Software as Developer III, where he builds production agentic AI features on top of an enterprise content services platform used by Fortune 500 healthcare, finance, and government customers.

⚔️

His current focus at Hyland is Hyland Automate (October 2024 onward), where he co-designs and implements GenAI capabilities that generate BPMN-compatible workflow definitions using Claude on AWS Bedrock. Before that he was on Perceptive Content Titan, an Angular 15+ rewrite of a legacy ECM originally built in C++, Java, and Backbone.js.

⚔️

His primary stacks are .NET Core / C# on the backend and Angular on the frontend, with React / Next.js and Python on personal and freelance work. On the AI side, he has built a multi-provider LLM proxy in .NET Core that unifies OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, and Groq behind a single API — with routing, failover, and cost tracking — and the RAG system that powers the chatbot on this site.

⚔️

Outside of Hyland he takes on freelance work: 30+ hours per week on a flexible daytime schedule, Monday through Saturday. Past freelance clients include Skulicity. He's based in Oregon, United States, and works with clients globally.

⚔️

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Western Oregon University (2018). For project inquiries, the best route is email: alex.molodyh.freelancer@gmail.com.

Services I Offer

Enterprise Web Application Development

Building enterprise web applications with Angular, React, and .NET Core. Most engagements involve migrating legacy stacks (C++/Java/Backbone or older jQuery codebases) to a modern Angular or React frontend backed by a .NET Core API. Best fit for teams with regulatory, security, or scale requirements that need real engineering rather than a no-code tool.

Performance Optimization

Profiling and tuning slow web applications — render performance, bundle size, API latency, and database queries. A representative outcome from his Skulicity work: a critical export workflow went from 45 minutes to 2 minutes. He measures before changing anything (Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, server-side profilers) so the fix is the right fix.

Full-Stack Feature Development

End-to-end feature delivery: data model, API, UI, tests, and deployment. Primary stacks are .NET Core or Node.js on the backend with Angular or React/Next.js on the frontend. Past freelance work includes Skulicity, where he shipped platform enhancements top-to-bottom.

Cloud & DevOps

Azure and AWS deployments — Azure Container Apps, App Service, Static Web Apps, AWS Bedrock — and CI/CD pipelines on Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps. Comfortable with Docker and Kubernetes when the workload warrants it, and equally comfortable using simpler PaaS deployments when it doesn't.

Testing & Code Quality

Setting up testing infrastructure — Jasmine, Cypress, Jest, Playwright, NUnit — plus Ragas for RAG-specific evaluation when the project is AI-shaped. He treats coverage as a means to confidence, not a number to chase: highest-risk paths first, with code review and CI gates that catch regressions before they ship.

Technical Leadership

Code review, pairing, architecture discussions, and mentoring junior and mid-level developers. At Hyland this has meant onboarding teammates to the Titan and Automate codebases and unblocking them on the agentic AI work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from clients about development process, quality, and collaboration.
If you have a question not covered here, feel free to reach out!

Project timelines vary based on complexity, but I believe in setting realistic expectations from the start. A simple website might take 2-3 weeks, while a complex enterprise application could take 2-3 months. I work freelance in the evenings with a maximum of 30 hours per week split between active clients, so timelines are planned accordingly. I always provide detailed project estimates and keep clients updated on progress throughout the development process.

I follow SOLID principles and clean code practices that I've refined over 8 years of development. Every project includes comprehensive testing, code reviews, and documentation. I use modern testing frameworks and maintain high code coverage to ensure your application is reliable, maintainable, and scalable.

Absolutely! I have extensive experience modernizing legacy systems and working with existing codebases. Whether it's refactoring old code, adding new features, or migrating to modern technologies, I approach each project with respect for the existing work while identifying opportunities for improvement. Recently, I've worked with clients like Skulicity to enhance their existing platforms and integrate new features seamlessly.

Clear communication is essential for project success. I provide regular updates, use project management tools for transparency, and am available for scheduled calls or messages during evening hours when I work on freelance projects. I believe in keeping clients informed without overwhelming them, and I'm always happy to explain technical concepts in accessible terms.

I specialize in modern full-stack development with Angular, React, .NET Core, Node.js, Next.js, Nest.js, Ionic, and cloud technologies. However, I'm always learning and adapting to new technologies. If your project requires a specific tech stack I'm not familiar with, I'll be honest about the learning curve and timeline adjustments needed.

Change is a natural part of software development, and I plan for it. I maintain flexible project structures and when requirements change, we'll discuss the impact on timeline and budget openly. I'll work with you to find the best path forward that serves your business goals.

Yes! I believe in empowering clients to understand and maintain their systems. I provide comprehensive documentation, user guides, and can offer training sessions for your team. Knowledge transfer is an important part of every project's success.

Testing is integral to my development process, not an afterthought. I implement unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end testing as appropriate for each project. This approach, developed over years of experience, ensures your application works reliably and can be confidently updated in the future.

I provide transparent, fair pricing based on project scope and complexity. I offer both fixed-price and hourly arrangements depending on what works best for your project. I believe in honest estimates and will always communicate if scope changes affect the budget.

Absolutely! I enjoy collaborating with other developers and can seamlessly integrate with your existing team. Whether you need additional capacity, specialized expertise, or leadership on specific initiatives, I adapt my working style to complement your team's processes and culture. My recent work with Skulicity involved collaborating closely with their development team to deliver cohesive solutions that aligned with their existing architecture and workflows.

That's perfectly fine! I work with many non-technical clients and pride myself on explaining complex concepts in simple terms. I'll keep you informed about progress, decisions, and any issues that arise, always ensuring you feel confident about your project's direction.
